FUT Hair Transplant: The Strip Method
FUT (follicular unit transplantation), also known as the strip method, involves surgically removing a thin strip of hair-bearing tissue from the back or side of your scalp. This donor area is specifically chosen because it is resistant to hair loss.
The excised strip of tissue is then dissected into hundreds or even thousands of tiny grafts containing 1-4 hairs each, using specialized microscopes. This allows us to preserve the natural groupings of your hair follicles. The graft follicular units are precisely transplanted into the balding or thinning areas of your scalp.
The major advantage of FUT is that it allows our surgeon to transplant a large number of grafts in a single session for optimal coverage of widespread hair loss. While it does leave a thin linear scar, our advanced trichophytic closure techniques ensure the incision line is virtually undetectable, even with very short hairstyles.
FUE Hair Transplant: Advanced Follicular Unit Extraction
FUE or follicular unit extraction is a more advanced, minimally invasive approach. Instead of excising a donor strip, individual hair follicle grafts are extracted directly from your scalp one by one using a micro punch tool. There is no linear scar with FUE.
