Eyebrow Transplant

Eyebrow transplants are quickly becoming a frontline cosmetic procedure for both men and women. Eyebrows are often overlooked as being among the most prominent features of the human visage. They serve to frame the eyes and accentuate the natural curvature of the face. The physicians and clinical staff at MAXIM employ a variety of eyebrow transplant processes to meet your desired aesthetic. These include Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) techniques, as well as non-surgical techniques such as microblading, cellular micrografting, and Autologous Conditioned Plasma (ACP)--some of which are combined with a hair transplant. read more

Competitive prices and 0% financing up to 24 months for qualified individuals in the U.S.

Same-day procedure, averaging up to 6 hours to complete. Our skilled team is dedicated to giving you results that meet your expectations.

For eyebrow transplants we utilize local anesthesia. You are awake and alert in a state-of-the-art clinical setting.

Our experienced eyebrow transplant surgeons and clinicians use the WAW FUE system based on your condition which can handle curly hair that is necessary for eyebrows, hair type/density/curvature, desired coverage, skin texture, and medical history. They may recommend either a FUT or FUE eyebrow transplant. If pertinent, our surgeons may elect to extract donor hair from the posterior scalp, the chest/abdominal areas, or the legs. The eyebrow transplant procedure can be combined with non-surgical procedures such as microblading/microneedling, and others outlined above. The most optimal technique, procedure, and approach will be determined during your complimentary consultation to ensure that your eyebrow transplant procedure and treatment plan is specifically personalized to you.

Preparing for your FUE eyebrow transplant is essential to a successful procedure. For optimal results, follow these guidelines:

  • Discuss pertinent medical history and medications with your MAXIM physician/clinician during your consultation and at least 1 week before the procedure.
  •  It is advised to avoid alcohol for 48 hours prior to your eyebrow transplant and refrain from consuming Vitamin E and certain medications prior to your procedure as advised by your physician or clinician. However, consult with your primary care provider prior to discontinuing any medications to minimize potential health risks.
  • If you have a significant history of cardiac disease, hypertension, or other medical conditions, you may require medical clearance before your eyebrow transplant procedure.
  • Be sure to get an adequate amount of sleep the night before your procedure.
  • Eat a light breakfast on the morning of your eyebrow transplant procedure.
  • It is advised to have a family member or peer accompany/drive you back home following the procedure.
  • You will receive pre and post-op instructions both before and after your eyebrow transplant procedure. Our physician/clinician or other pertinent staff will contact you following the procedure.

WAW FUE System

MAXIM will often utilize the WAW FUE system when conducting an eyebrow transplant. This system harvests high-quality grafts, including curly hair, without making a large incision.

FUT Technique

Some hair transplant doctors utilize the FUT hair transplant technique for eyebrow transplants by harvesting the area behind the ears so that the scar is tiny and not obvious.

Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

In some cases we can enhance an eyebrow transplant by utilizing SMP. This technique can help color and definition to your eyebrows, enhancing their aesthetics and appearance.  SMP complements the eyebrow transplant by filling in gaps and camouflaging imperfections.

Cellular Micrografting

In addition to an eyebrow transplant, cellular micrografting can help utilize the regenerative power of cellular grafts to promote natural growth. This can help clients achieve fuller eyebrows.

Autologous Conditioned Plasma (ACP)

With ACP, clients can harness their own body's growth factors from their own blood. This can help to stimulate healing and enhance tissue regeneration.

Frequently Asked Questions

An eyebrow transplant is an in-clinic cosmetic surgery procedure designed to create fuller, thicker, and well-shaped eyebrows. Depending on your specific needs/wishes, a hair transplant doctor or clinician will transplant hair follicles from the back/sides of your scalp to your eyebrows. There are a variety of techniques to achieve this, all of which will be discussed during your complimentary consultation.

Using FUE and FUT techniques, eyebrow transplants last a lifetime. You will see substantial hair growth in the months immediately following your eyebrow transplant, with optimal results around 1-2 years. The final result of your transplant will be permanent, natural-appearing eyebrows.

  • Eyebrow transplants are a single-procedure permanent solution to fuller eyebrows. Although the final result, on average, takes shape over the course of 1-2 years, the outcome lasts a lifetime. Eyebrow transplants are not as costly as a regular hair transplant.
  • Microblading, in contrast, is a more budget-friendly and temporary solution to your desired eyebrow aesthetic. Microblading is a technique, not dissimilar to tattooing, that adds temporary pigment to the skin-ultimately creating the illusion of thicker, fuller eyebrows. This procedure is performed more quickly than an eyebrow transplant, and you will see the results immediately. You will also, however, need to return for touch-ups since the pigment will fade over time.
  • Depending on your budget and eyebrow goals, you may opt for either of these effective procedures!

For most patients, about one week is the average recovery time after completing their eyebrow transplant procedure. During this week you can expect the eyebrows to be somewhat tender, swollen, and red. This will also be true of the areas of the scalp used for extraction. To ensure optimal results during downtime, it is best to avoid prolonged sun exposure, scrubbing, exfoliants, and other cosmetic chemicals in the weeks following your eyebrow transplant procedure. Our surgeon/clinicians will be in contact with you throughout your recovery period.

The eyebrow transplant procedure is most often painless due to the use of local anesthesia. Most patients are comfortable during the procedure. Post-procedure, however, you may experience discomfort and swelling for the first week due to generalized irritation of the eyebrow transplant areas. These symptoms will fade in a matter of days and you'll be able to resume your daily activities.

As is the case with any surgical procedure, there are some risks/side effects involved. The risks of an eyebrow transplant most often result in mild discomfort, swelling, and scarring. Infection is another associated risk, however, one that can be easily avoided with proper pre and post-procedure care. In rare cases, some transplanted hair follicles won't take, resulting in no hair growth from the affected follicle.
