Is It Possible To Transplant Hair To Eyebrows?

An eyebrow transplant is a hair transplant procedure where hair grafts are transferred to your brow area. Our Goal is to provide you quality & natural-looking eyebrows. You probably already know that it’s possible to transplant hair to the scalp do you think is it also possible in Eyebrows?

The short answer is a simple “yes.” However, a simple “yes” might not provide you with all the information you’re seeking. What you might be wondering is how an eyebrow transplant in Beverly Hills would work.

If so, you’re in the right place. This article will not only explain how an eyebrow transplant works, but why eyebrow transplants are beneficial in the first place. Let’s get into the specifics!

What Does an Eyebrow Transplant Entail?

Compared to other types of hair transplants, eyebrow transplants are fairly simple. Generally, they will require only one grafting session, after which you can go on living your life to the fullest.

Most typically, when undergoing an eyebrow transplant, the patient will undergo a follicular unit extraction, commonly called FUE. This procedure is commonly used for eyebrows because it allows for the surgeon to take hair from very small donor areas. In contrast, the donor areas associated with a follicular unit transplantation, or FUT, are normally too big to accommodate the eyebrows.

Once FUE has been performed, the transplanted hair will fall out. Then, it will grow back around 6 months later, never to fall out again. The results of a follicular unit extraction are permanent.

What Type of Recovery is Associated with the Procedure?

hair transplant to eyebrows

There is very little recovery associated with an eyebrow transplant. While the patient may feel a bit of discomfort, he or she typically won’t be subjected to much downtime; at most, it could be around 2 days.

To counteract discomfort and swelling after the procedure, it’s wise to utilize ibuprofen and ice packs. These implements should help you to get through recovery with flying colors.

Why Do People Lose Their Eyebrows in the First Place, They need Eyebrow Transplant?

You may be asking: why would someone need an eyebrow transplant in the first place? Eyebrows can fall out for a variety of reasons, some of which will be discussed below.

Genetic Predisposition

Some people are quite simply born with a predisposition for losing their eyebrows. It’s in their genes, and there’s nothing they can do to stop it. That is, of course, except for an eyebrow transplant.

Psychological Disorders

In some cases, individuals will excessively pluck out their eyebrows due to stress and anxiety. They use eyebrow tearing as a sort of coping mechanism. While eyebrows will typically grow back, there could come a time when too much plucking causes permanent damage, preventing their regrowth.

Over-plucking

Females, in particular, tend to pluck their eyebrows for aesthetic reasons. While this is generally a safe practice, if done to excess, it can result in eyebrows which don’t grow back.

Physical Health Issues

Some individuals have physical medical issues which result in the loss of eyebrows. One such medical issue is alopecia, a disorder which results in all of the affected person’s body hair falling out. Cancer patients can also lose their eyebrow hair due to chemotherapy.

Physical Trauma

It is also possible to lose your eyebrows due to severe physical trauma. Collisions, fires, and other accidents can cause permanent eyebrow loss.

The Different Types Of Hair Transplant

Hair Transplant, It’s achieved by grafting – or removing – follicles from the back of the head and implanting them in areas that need it, so what are the different types of hair transplant?

There are two types of hair transplant, either by Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) or Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE).  The FUT method involves the removal of a strip of scalp from the back of your head and its dissection into individual grafts, while the FUE method involves taking individual follicles from the back of the head one by one.

Types Of Hair Transplant - FUT

Either way, the rest of the process is the same.  Miniscule sites are created in the balding areas of the scalp using fine blades and needles so that the grafts can be inserted in the sites.  The FUE procedure is a bit tedious and may take a few hours, but it’s painless because the area is numbed with a local anesthetic.

Both types of hair transplant have their advantages.  For example, with the FUT method, larger areas of sparse hair or baldness can be covered in fewer sessions.  With the FUE method, you don’t need to have an entire strip of scalp, there are no cuts, stitches or scars, and the recovery time is much faster, allowing you to return to work within a day or two.

Choosing the right types for hair transplant

Know that you understand the different types of hair transplant, which type is best for you?  That depends on your individual needs. Clients with larger areas of baldness and would like it covered in a single session should opt for the FUT method, while the FUE method is more suitable for clients who:

  • Have smaller areas of thinning or baldness – particularly women.
  • Want to wear a shorter hairstyle.
  • Have an active, sporty lifestyle.
  • Prefer a less invasive procedure without cuts and stitches on the scalp.
  • Want a faster recovery.

In addition to providing an effective solution for pattern baldness, implants can be used to restore hair on other parts of the body including eyebrows, eyelashes, facial hair and chest hair. They also help fill in scars that are the result of an accident or surgery such as a facelift or a previous hair transplant.

Ten Surprising Things You Didn’t Know Cd hair transplant surgeoause Hair Loss

Many people don’t know what are the causes of their hair loss. Both men and women can lose their hair.  While most blame it on age, there are some surprising reasons why people experience hair loss.

Causes of Hair Loss

Here are ten surprising reasons – other than bad luck – why we might lose our hair.

1. Hormones

Hormones are powerful and can cause changes in the body that result in hair loss. Pregnant women or those on birth control pills are both susceptible to hormone changes that can affect change in hair follicles. Menopause will also bring about hormonal shifts when androgen receptors are activated on the scalp and hair falls out.

2. Diabetes

People with diabetes might notice that their hair is thinning or that it is falling out in patches. This is due to a condition that often accompanies diabetes. Alopecia areata causes the immune system to reject and then to attack hair follicles.

3. Thyroid Disorders

An underactive thyroid, also known as hypothyroidism, can cause hair to fall out. The thyroid fails to produce the right amount of hormones, which are critical for growth.

4. Heredity

Your genes are a factor and – surprise! – it’s your mom who carries the male pattern baldness gene in the family. The female version is called androgenetic alopecia, which is noticeable when hair starts to thin along the part line.

5. Autoimmune disease

An overactive immune system targets hair and triggers the fallout.

6. Stress

Our bodies react to stress in various ways and in some cases, the body’s response, especially physical stress, is to slough of hair. Telogen effluvium is the process by which the body experiences such a shock and is fooled into launching into one of its natural life cycle phases:  growth, rest or shedding. A physical trauma will cause your body to shed hair, but as the body recovers, so will the hair.

7. Vitamins

Taking vitamins has a purpose, but taking too many or too few can be dangerous to your health and also to your hair. Vitamin B deficiency, for instance, can cause hair loss. On the other hand, the opposite is also dangerous in regards to taking in too much Vitamin A, as hair loss will be the result.

8. Diet

A severe dietary change can affect your hair, causing it to fall out. Harshly restricting protein and calories, having an eating disorder, or replacing meals with supplements can over time have a negative effect. Reversing the hair loss is possible, with a return to a well-balanced diet.

9. Anemia

Hair loss is a definite sign of anemia brought on by an iron deficiency. When faced with a lack of iron, your body will enter survival mode, rerouting all of its energy into supporting your body’s vital functions.

10. Medications

Medications, especially beta-blockers that treat blood pressure and also blood thinners can have an adverse effect on your hair, causing it to fall out. The same is true of chemotherapy.

If you notice that your hair is thinning or falling out in patches, talk with your doctor about what might be causing the loss. Thinning hair is often a sign of a bigger problem that needs to be addressed, perhaps a chronic illness that requires a diagnosis. In most cases, hair loss is a symptom.

One solution is to take charge of the situation and contact the skilled hair restoration professionals at MAXiM Hair Restoration.  MAXiM Hair Restoration has plastic and hair transplant surgeons who artfully create an attractive hairline for people with hair loss every day.

Hair Transplant in Winnetka, Illinois: Follicular Unit Transplantation

Are you interested in taking advantage of a hair transplant in Winnetka, Illinois? Trying to decide between a follicular unit extraction (FUE) and a follicular unit transplantation (FUT)? If so, this article should be of great assistance.  Below, we’ll discuss the advantages and disadvantages of a follicular unit transplantation, in particular. Let’s begin!

For nearly all of human history, men had no choice but to accept that their hair was falling out and that it would never be replaced.

Since then, hair transplants have grown substantially in their sophistication, offering a more attractive transplant at a more reasonable price. These days, hair transplants are a viable option for more men than ever before.

Hair Transplant in Winnetka, Illinois

The Advantages of FUT Hair Transplant

When compared to a follicular unit extraction procedure, FUT has a number of advantages. Perhaps the biggest advantage of FUT is that it’s less expensive than FUE. This is due largely to the fact that, while FUT typically requires 2 or 3 grafting sessions. FUE typically may require more grafting sessions.

Generally, you will also find that FUT produces a better hair transplant result in Winnetka, Illinois. The hair associated with this procedure appears thicker and denser than the hair associated with FUE. This is because you can do a larger session with FUT up to 4,000 grafts.

It should also be noted that a follicular unit transplantation takes relatively little time. Not only are the sessions fairly short, the amount of sessions needed to carry out a full procedure aren’t as numerous as what is needed for FUE.

The Disadvantages of FUT Hair Transplant

Arguably the biggest disadvantage of a FUT procedure is that it produces a linear scar which can sometimes be seen through hair. If noticed, this scar might alert people to the fact that a procedure of some sort was performed. However, if you’re alright with this, it shouldn’t be a major cause for concern.

The only other potential disadvantage of follicular unit transplantation is that it can cause some discomfort. However, in most cases, any discomfort disappears within a few days.

The FUT Hair Transplant Procedure in Winnetka, Illinois

Now that we’ve discussed advantages and disadvantages, let’s discuss the specifics of the FUT procedure.

Generally, you will first speak with your surgeon about what the procedure will entail. He or she will answer any questions you might have and will do whatever is necessary to get you ready.

On the day of your procedure, he/she will draw our hairline that you will approve prior to proceeding with the procedure. He or she will provide you with a local anesthetic. This will numb the area so that you won’t feel any discomfort during the procedure.

Now, the procedure will start. You will remain awake during its entirety and will even be able to talk with your surgeon as he or she is working or watch TV or take a nap. He or she will take a strip of hair from the back and sides of your head. And our surgeon dissect these into individual grafts before transplanting these to the parts of your head which are balding.

Within a few days of the procedure, your grafted hair should fall out of your head. Then, about 6 months later, it will grow back in, remaining there for good.

What Is Hair Replacement?

What is Hair Replacement?

Hair loss may have a negative impact on a person’s appearance and self-esteem. Surgical hair replacement aims to fill in or recreate thinning hairlines and other regions of the scalp where hair loss is visible. Hair loss can affect both men and women. The primary cause of a receding hairline in men is heredity (male pattern baldness). Hormonal modifications, such as menopause among other factors can cause hair thinning and hair loss in women.

The positive is that the hair growth industry has come a long way and now offers a variety of hair loss therapies and treatments. Hair replacement and hair transplants are the most common. Traditionally, hair replacement constituted hair pieces, hair systems, toupees and wigs.

Hair replacement surgery, on the other hand, is a form of surgery that transplants hair you already have at the back and sides of the head to fill in an area where your hair is thinning. Also, it is a procedure if you have lost a significant amount of hair. There has been a substantial rise in demand for hair replacement surgery. Doctors have been performing this procedure for more than 60 years.  However, the methods they use have changed quite a bit in recent years. To find more about hair replacement surgery, this page is right for you.

What you Should Know About Hair Replacement Surgery?

A hair replacement procedure is a life-changing surgical treatment that helps people regain their confidence. It corrects obvious defects in the thickness and style of your hair, making it a long-term investment in your self-esteem. While hair replacement surgery may not be able to benefit those who are completely bald, there are a variety of hair replacement techniques available that can also be combined with non-surgical solutions.

Non-surgical Hair Replacement is for you if you want to regain a complete head of hair without undergoing surgery. These natural-looking hair additions, hair systems, hair pieces and extensions are nearly undetectable to touch or sight and are non-invasive, simple, and fuss-free. Hair replacement systems are designed for men who have advanced hair loss or baldness. There are hair extensions that do not need surgery and are virtually undetectable to the naked eye or touch. The Hair Replacement System, a hair weave appropriate for those who only need partial hair additions, is an alternative to hair transplant surgery.

MAXIM plants to launch an array of non-surgical hair replacement solutions and options that are unrivaled when it comes to hair systems! At MAXIM Hair Restoration, we plan to create hairpieces, wigs and hair systems for people suffering from hair loss and medical disorders using a completely innovative procedure. Per hairpiece, the device is handcrafted and personalized according to the customer’s hair tastes, style, texture and desires.

What is a Hair System?

Synthetic hair or a wig is hand-woven into a certain base cloth, such as lace, to create a hair system. The base is then applied to the person’s head using the desired form of binding (tape or adhesive). After that, sliced and mixed to seal it in.

Advanced hair replacement allows people with mild to advanced hair loss to drastically alter their look. Anyone, regardless of age, hair color, or degree of hair loss, may wear a hair system. To begin, the hair replacement specialist/stylist will check your hair to see if more hair can be added to give it a fuller look. When using new hairpieces with the right adhesive, there are very few drawbacks. You can also wash, sleep, workout, swim, trim, style, and dye your hair as though it were your real hair. To put it another way, you should practically live your life like you would if you didn’t have it.  How long the hair system would last is impossible to determine. Many aspects influence this, like the foundation material and how you maintain the hairpieces.

In addition, it may take six to eight weeks to tailor-make the hair pieces after an initial consultation. The front hairline will be nearly undetectable, and you will be able to shave, swim, and participate in sports as normal. You’ll get 15 weeks of wear on average before you need a bolster injection to keep the system  in tip-top shape.

Types of Hair Replacement Surgery and how it works.

Today, hair replacement surgery is performed right in the doctor’s office.  The surgeon cleans your scalp and injects a local anesthetic to numb the area of your head.  Along with your doctor, you will have chosen one of two types of hair transplant, either follicular unit transplantation (FUT) or follicular unit extraction (FUE.)

The entire process takes anywhere from four to eight hours, depending on the number of grafts.  Following the surgery, your scalp may be sensitive. You may need to take pain medication and either an antibiotic or an anti-inflammatory for a few days, which your doctor will prescribe.  Also, you’ll need to wear a bandage over your scalp for at least a day or two.

1. Follicular unit transplantation (FUT or strip method)

For the FUT method, the surgeon will remove a six- to 10-inch strip of skin from the back of your head. After that, the surgeon then sets the strip aside and sews the scalp closed, allowing the area to be immediately hidden by the hair surrounding it.  Next, the strip is dissected into 1,000 to 3,000 small grafts. Each with one or just a few hair follicles, depending on your hair type, color, quality, and the size of the transplant area. The surgeon sutures the donor area to seal the wound from where the hair is extracted.

2. Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE)

First, the hair is shaved from the back of the head. Our surgeons or clinicians harvest and extract hair follicles one at a time. The affected area heals with only small dots, which your existing hair covers. From this point forward, both the FUT and FUE procedures are the same. After the grafts are prepared, the surgeon cleans and numbs the area in which the hair will be transplanted. They use a scalpel or needle for each recipient site. FUE does not result in linear scars.

Hair replacement surgery takes around a day. So, you shouldn’t have to wait overnight. If you’re treating a wide area, you can need two or three sessions spaced a few years apart. Your MAXIM surgeon and staff will instruct you on how to take care of your grafts and scalp. You will have a spray to use to aid hair growth and recovery.

What to expect after Hair Replacement?

Following hair replacement surgery, most people are likely to return to work within a few days. For the first two weeks after your surgery, you must be very cautious with your transplanted hair on the scalp. If not cared for, the grafts could get damaged. To stop scarring, it’s best to keep the workouts to a minimum for the first month. Follow all post-op instructions meticulously.

A few weeks following the hair restoration treatment, the transplanted hair will start to fall out. However, they will begin to regrow after four months.  On average, most patients experience 60% of new hair growth after six to nine months. Improved density is apparent after a year. Nevertheless, you may need another procedure at a later date if you continue losing hair or if you decide you want thicker hair.

For a few days after hair replacement surgery, it’s not abnormal to have a strong, achy, and swollen scalp. There will be temporary scabbing where the hair is transplanted. Also, there will be a single scar or a series of very small scars in the donor area that generally fade over time.

How much does it cost?

Hair replacement surgery can be expensive. When seeking a hair replacement other considerations to remember include the cost of transport, the drugs needed following the transplant, and the recovery period. However, the average cost of a hair replacement varies greatly depending on the quantity of hair, but it typically ranges from $6,000 to $20,000. There are no insurance plans to protect it. However, 0% financing is available at MAXIM Hair Restoration. Also, talk with a professional and competent surgeon at MAXIM Hair Restoration who performs the procedure. It’s a good idea to talk to the specialist about the benefits, risks, potential complications and recovery times.

If you decide to go the non-surgical route, the price of your hair system can vary depending on where you buy it, whether it’s ready-to-wear, and whether the coverage is partial or absolute. A limited coverage hair system can cost $800 to $1,200, while full coverage options can cost up to $2,500 or even higher. Premium systems are much higher. Monthly maintenance can be in the $200 range.

How Can You Benefit from a Beard Transplant?

First, let’s discuss the benefits of undergoing a facial hair transplant in New York. A facial hair transplant could positively affect you on both personal and social levels.

Increased Self-esteem

Perhaps the biggest benefit of a facial hair is an increase in self-esteem. Men who are ashamed of their inability to grow facial hair can see their confidence levels increase substantially by undergoing a facial hair transplant.

This increase in self-esteem can carry over to other parts of life, allowing for improvement in the social, professional, and romantic realms. It can also help them to feel a little more comfortable in their own skin.

Aesthetic Improvement

Though aesthetic preferences are entirely subjective, many individuals today prefer men with beards. This is why, if you undergo a facial hair implant, you can improve your overall personal aesthetic.

Just as increasing your self-esteem can improve all aspects of your life, an improvement in your physical appearance can improve all aspects of your life as well. You could become not only more attractive to women, but more appealing to colleagues, family, and friends.

Some people also grow facial hair for religious reasons.

Ever-growing Facial Hair

Many of the techniques used to spur on the growth of facial hair are either ineffective or temporary.

A facial hair transplant will ensure hair growth for the rest of your life. This means that you can spend your precious time focused on more pertinent matters; not on trying to grow hair which isn’t there.

Apart from beards, you can also undergo a mustache hair transplant procedure, eyebrow hair transplants, and side burns.

When having hair transplanted to your face, you will usually undergo a follicular unit extraction (FUE). This is a procedure in which small amounts of hair are taken from the sides of the head and grafted to the face. When used for facial hair transplants in New York, it typically lasts for 4 to 6 hours.

During the procedure, you will remain awake. However, you will be administered a local anesthetic to prevent you from feeling any discomfort.

After the procedure is finished, you will be sent on your way. Then, within a few days, the transplanted hairs will fall out. 4 months later, they will then grow back, and remain there.

What Does Recovery Entail?

Recovery from a facial hair transplant is fairly tame. Though there might be some minor discomfort, it’s nothing that should prevent you from living your normal life. Generally, you’ll be back to work or school within a few days.
