Can I Have a Hair Transplant Done During COVID?

The coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic has significantly impacted our lives in every way – personally and professionally. However, each one of us looks forward to the rebound and return to normalcy. A number of our patients have contacted MAXIM Hair Restoration to have their hair transplant procedure done during this period. However, in compliance with stay-at-home orders and out of an abundance of precaution to protect our staff and patients, we suspended performing procedures and in-office consults in most locations until the government permits to re-open.

Hair Restoration & Transplant at MAXIM

Most patients are now demanding Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) which is the No Stitch, No Linear Scar hair transplant procedure. People do not want to go through a long recovery process associated with the Strip (FUT) procedure even though one can achieve a higher density with FUT. Coincidentally, FUE is a better procedure to perform in the time of this pandemic because it’s less invasive, involves minimal bleeding, and involves relatively less physical contact compared to FUT and other surgical procedures like (SMP) Scalp Micropigmentation

How Does the Hair Transplant Procedure Work?

Hair transplant or transplantation is a minor surgical procedure that involves taking hair follicles from the back and sides of the head (donor area) and transplanting them to the thinning and balding areas known as the recipient site. The conventional procedure known as Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) involves taking a strip of hair from the back of the head, dissecting it into individual grafts or follicular units, and transplanting them to the recipient site. The donor area is then sutured by the hair transplant surgeon and stitches taken out a week to 10 days thereafter. With the newer and advanced Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) procedure, the hair transplant doctor extracts individual hair grafts, consisting of 1 to 3 hair follicles, from the donor area; then makes recipient sites in the thinning and balding areas, and technicians place the grafts into those sites. At MAXIM, the hair transplant surgeons and technicians use advanced FUE Technology for the harvesting of hair follicles.

Hair Transplant Procedures Scoring System During the COVID-19 Pandemic

The Journal of the American College of Surgeons has published a scoring method to rate various medical procedures based on their safety. The FUE hair transplant procedure performs very well on this rating scale. Twenty-one factors were identified to rate elective procedures in the current climate of the COVID-19 pandemic. These factors fell into three general categories. A higher score for each factor is associated with an increased risk of COVID-19 transmission to the healthcare team, and/or increased hospital resource use.

Procedure Factors Score: 11

Amount of resources required during the length of the procedure in an operating room (O.R.). A hair transplant is an outpatient, office-based procedure that does not require an O.R.  It is performed in a minor procedure room. It entails a minimal drain or impact on PPE and other resources.

Condition Factors Score: 23

Timing of the procedure and whether or not it is urgent. A higher score is generally indicative of less harm to the patient when the procedure is deferred. These factors gauge the impact of surgical deferment in order to integrate time-sensitivity into the prioritization process.

Patient Factors Score: 16

Known patient factors associated with higher incidences COVID-19 mortality. These may include age, predisposition to certain adverse reactions, the existence of certain medical conditions and disorders, asthma, cardiac or pulmonary issues, etc.

FUE Hair Transplant Total Score: 50

This is a great score. A higher score, which can range as high as 105, is associated with poorer patient outcomes, increased risk of COVID transmission to the team, and an increased strain on hospital resources. In a similar manner, a lower score can help preserve operation room capacity and the precious supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) for front line workers.

Patient and Staff Protection During Your Hair Transplant Procedure

When we reopen, we would ensure that all patients and visitors to the office are screened for temperature, travel history, and other medical ailments including cough and cold. We would limit the number of consults and procedures at any given time in the office. We have instituted social distancing in the clinic both between patients and staff in compliance with CDC guidelines. Patients and staff are required to wear masks, gloves, gowns, and other protective gear. We also strongly encourage Virtual consults via our HIPAA-compliant, encrypted TeleHealth platforms.

Your Hair Transplant Consultation at MAXIM

Virtual Consultations are now available for prospective MAXIM clients as well as existing patients who need follow-up care. These are available primarily through our HIPAA-compliant, encrypted Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform. This will enable prospective clients who live far away from our offices to have a virtual consultation and only have to travel to our office on the day of their hair transplant procedure.

Rapid Return

An FUE hair transplant procedure enables you to return to your normal working activities within a couple of days of the procedure. FUE is a minimally invasive procedure performed in an office setting under local anesthesia. Moreover, it is natural, permanent, and affordable. Here’s what you can expect in the days and weeks following the procedure:

  1. Return to normal activities and light exercise after a few days.
  2. More strenuous exercise can resume after 10 days.
  3. Avoid heavy lifting and excessive sweating.
  4. Resume all normal activities after two weeks.

Follow up care can be performed virtually or in-clinic depending upon the situation.

What Is Hair Replacement?

Hair Replacement Is?

Hair replacement is a form of surgery that transplants hair you already have to fill in an area where your hair is thinning, or you have no hair at all.  Doctors have been performing this procedure for more than 60 years.  However, the methods they use have changed quite a bit in recent years.

What you Should know About Hair Replacement

Hair loss can be a distressing development.  But thanks to modern, state-of-the-art hair replacement techniques, it can also be a reversible condition.

In fact, today, hair replacement is performed right in the doctor’s office.  To start, the surgeon cleans your scalp and injects a local anesthetic to numb the area of your head being treated.  Along with your doctor, you will have chosen one of two types of hair transplant, either follicular unit transplantation (FUT) or follicular unit extraction (FUE.)

For the FUT method, the surgeon will remove a six- to 10-inch strip of skin from the back of your head.  The surgeon then sets the strip aside and sews the scalp closed, allowing the area to be immediately hidden by the hair surrounding it.  Next, the strip of removed scalp is divided into 500 to 2,000 small grafts, each with one or just a few hairs, depending on your hair type, color, quality, and the size of the transplant area.

With the FUE procedure, the back of your scalp is shaved. Our surgeon or doctors remove hair follicles one at a time.  The affected area heals with only small dots, which your existing hair covers.  From this point forward, both the FUT and FUE procedures are the same.  After the grafts are prepared, the surgeon cleans and numbs the area in which the hair will be transplanted.  Holes or slits are created with a scalpel or needle and each graft is delicately placed in one of the holes.

Procedures

The entire process takes anywhere from four to eight hours, depending on the size of the transplant.  Following the surgery, your scalp may be sensitive and you may need to take pain medication and either an antibiotic or an anti-inflammatory for a few days, which your doctor will prescribe.  Also, you’ll need to wear a bandage over your scalp for at least a day or two.  However, most patients are able to return to work within a few days after the procedure.

Two to three weeks after the treatment, the transplanted hair will start to fall out, but it will be replaced with new growth within a few months.  On average, most patients experience 60% of new hair growth after six to nine months.  Nevertheless, you may need another procedure at a later date if you continue losing hair or if you decide you want thicker hair.

A full head of hair helps a person feel happier, healthier and more confident.  Every day, people with thinning hair trust the plastic and hair transplant surgeons at MAXiM Hair Restoration to artfully create an attractive hairline for them.  MAXiM has convenient locations in New York, Long Island, Connecticut, Chicago, Dallas, and the Washington, DC area.  Contact MAXiM today to find out if you are a candidate for hair replacement.

Your Top Questions About Hair Transplant Answered

Are you wondering about any unanswered questions regarding hair transplants? According to the American Hair Loss Association, 35 million men around the world experience baldness, and in the United States alone, 40% of patients experiencing hair loss are women. For many, hair transplant surgery has become the choice to overcome hair loss. It is an effective method that provides natural results and involves a simple procedure. It has practically no downtime and it is very safe.

Having questions about hair transplants, meaning transplanting hair from one part of the scalp to the area where the hair is missing isn’t new. Many people are curious about the procedure and want to get familiar with all the details. It is becoming an increasingly safe and effective method for dealing with hair loss. Plus, it is being performed globally which makes it even more of a trustworthy procedure. Let’s begin with some history about hair restoration surgery.

What is the History of Hair Replacement Surgery?

Hair transplantation first appeared in Germany in the mid-1800s. Modern hair transplant surgery has come a very long way since its introduction to the United States in the 1950s. The very first hair replacement surgery was done in New York City by Dr. Norman Orentreich. This occurred after many obstacles and opposition by the medical community, which did not agree with the initial submissions of his paper. It became a landmark study that was published in 1959.

Dr. Orentreich coined the term “donor dominance” to expand on the basic concept of hair transplantation. It explained that transplanted hair continues to show the same characteristics of the hair from where it came from. To explain another way, hair that was taken from the rear or side of the head, which is also known as the permanent zone, would continue to grow the same way as when it was in its original place.

The study concludes that donor dominance shows the reason why hair located in the donor area, which does not experience hair loss, continues to grow after following the transplantation to the bald regions of the scalp.

Modern techniques, coupled with the science supporting transplant development, are providing a more natural look and feel for hair transplant recipients. It has become a common method for dealing with hair loss for both men and women. Not only for hair on the scalp but even for eyebrows, beard and mustache hair transplants.

Today, a hair transplant is a natural choice for those seeking to regain a more youthful, healthy look. For those who can only think “toupee” “hair pieces” or “hair plugs,” think again. Hair restoration is an innovative technique that has proved to be the most effective in regaining hair as you once had it.

The following are some questions about hair transplant and their answers.

What is hair transplant surgery?

A hair transplant is a minor surgical procedure that involves removing hair from an area of the head that has ample hair – usually the sides or back of the scalp – and then placing those hair follicles in the thinning and balding areas where more hair is desired. Over time, the hair follicles take root and grow, filling in the areas of the scalp that have lost hair. The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia and takes several hours. It involves a fairly easy recovery and very little downtime. Patients do not experience tremendous pain and most don’t have any complications. The result is natural hair in areas where hair had been lost.

Can women go bald like men?

Men and women are both affected by baldness or thinning hair. Men are more genetically prone to baldness, though ironically, baldness is passed down through one’s genes. Both men and women can lose their hair and even go bald, but unlike men, balding for a woman is primarily related to hormones. Women lose hair due to hormonal changes, and they seldom go totally bald, but only experience thinning. Alopecia areata is an auto-immune disease that attacks the hair follicles, causing hair loss. While rare, it can cause baldness in both men and women. Some women experience temporary hair loss after pregnancy. This, however, is a temporary state that usually goes back to normal after their hormones regain balance. Another reason why some women may experience hair loss is due to extreme hairstyles that pull on the hair and eventually cause the hair follicle to get damaged.

What type of patient most often gets hair transplant surgery?

Statistics gathered from the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery indicate that a little more than 84% of balding men are or at have some point considered hair transplant surgery.

In comparison, women who choose hair replacement surgery to deal with hair loss come in at 15.3 percent. The greatest number of men who are deciding to take advantage of hair transplant surgery are between the ages of 30 and 39 years old although this has expanded to the 25 to 55 year age group with an increasing number of younger and older men seeking hair transplants. Women who are choosing the surgery most often are between the ages of 39 and 49 years old.

What does the procedure entail?

Hair transplant surgery is rather straightforward and quick. It is performed in a doctor’s office or clinic setting, and for most patients, the surgery lasts several hours. Each client is different as far as the extent of their hair loss, and their viable donor site. Depending on the number of grafts to be transplanted, more than one hair restoration procedure may be required. Your doctor or clinician will give you a timeline and detailed plan during the initial consultation. The hair restoration surgery might be conducted under local anesthetic, which is perfectly normal and it is the most common way it is performed. However, some patients may be completely anesthetized, meaning under general anesthesia so that they will sleep through the procedure. This is usually the case for patients who might be very nervous or may have other special needs. Commonly, it is an outpatient surgery and the person will be able to go home afterward. It is strictly advisable not to drive immediately following the procedure.

After the procedure, the patient will be given an antibiotic ointment for them to apply after washing the area. It is important that the patient follows aftercare instructions to make sure the procedure is effective and doesn’t have any complications. The aftercare is simple, you are responsible for ensuring that the area stays clean, free from crusty build-ups and that you watch for signs of infection such as inflammation, redness, or pain. There is practically no downtime after the procedure, some people return to work within a couple of days and don’t notice a difference in the way they feel, which is a very positive result.

Is Hair Transplant Surgery safe?

Hair transplant surgery is considered a safe procedure, however, as with any surgery, there can be risks. To minimize those risks and potential complications, a patient should have a conversation with their healthcare professional. Speak with the hair transplant surgeon concerning the risks that are involved and be sure to cover the issues that are particular to your case. Each person is different, so it is important that you find out what applies to you. Be sure to provide a list of medications, both over-the-counter and prescribed that you’re taking as well as supplements. Additionally, your hair transplant doctor/clinician will take a detailed health history to find out if you’re fit for surgery.

Is the hair transplant procedure affordable?

If your reasons for choosing hair transplant surgery are purely cosmetic, then most insurance companies won’t pay for it. If the surgery is due to an accident or injury, then the insurance company might underwrite the surgery but it would need to be pre-approved. You will have to take into consideration the cost of other solutions that you might implement to restore, control or camouflage your hair loss. People have to take into account all the products, wigs, hair systems, and other methods that they have used for years and examine the costs associated with those products. It is all relative, some people think is well worth having natural hair and being able to feel their best. Overall, the price of the procedure is competitive with other procedures as you would normally find in the healthcare industry.

Does it really work?

Transplanted hair falls out within a few weeks of the procedure which can be alarming to the patient; but the fallout is normal. New hair will grow in its place within as little as four months. It takes six to twelve months to see meaningful results. It is part of the normal hair cycle where it sheds and grows back again. In conclusion, yes, hair restoration surgery is very effective.

5 Benefits Of A Hair Transplant In Chicago

Do you suffer from male pattern baldness and looking for hair transplant in Chicago? Do you miss the way that your hair used to look? Balding can have deep psychological effects on the affected, causing them reduced self-esteem, and an overall sense of uneasiness.

Fortunately, these days, there are remedies available. Some of these remedies are very effective, and some of them are hit-or-miss. Without a doubt, the most effective remedy available is the hair transplant surgery that also we have the office in Chicago.

Here are 5 benefits of a hair transplant in Chicago, Illinois and the surrounding suburbs.

1. Improved Confidence

As was noted above, hair loss often results in lowered self-esteem, causing afflicted individuals to feel uncomfortable in social settings and to develop mental complexes. In essence, hair loss can be a truly debilitating event.

This is why a hair transplant surgery in Chicago can be so beneficial. If you suffer from hair loss, and it has affected your confidence, a hair transplant can help to restore some of your self-esteem.

A newfound self-esteem can be beneficial in many parts of your life. Not only can it improve your love life, but your work life, and your social life as well.

2. Better-looking Hair

The most obvious benefit of a hair transplant is that it will result in better-looking hair. What was once a collection of thinning hair patches will be transformed into a thick, luxurious mane.

It’s no secret that the balding look is not a desired one; neither for men or for women. Whether you like it or not, it does negatively affect your appearance. For the most part, people prefer those with a full head of hair.

A hair transplant will restore your hair, allowing you to style it in whatever way you prefer. This will help you to thrive in all settings, whether they be romantic, social, or business settings.

 3. It Lasts Forever

There are a bevy of hair restoration products on the market which will provide partial or temporary results. However, having to make use of these products over and over again can be a struggle. Not to mention, at some point, these products will begin to lose their effectiveness.

Hair transplant surgery in Chicago, Illinois, on the other hand, is a more permanent solution. Once the procedure has been carried out, it will last for the rest of your life.

No more sprays or ritualistic remedies. Just pay once and reap the benefits of a full head of hair forever.

 4. Includes Very Little Maintenance

As was noted above, a hair transplant is essentially a permanent hair restoration solution. There is, however, just a little bit of maintenance required. A few follow up visits will be necessary to ensure that the procedure was carried out correctly.

Apart from this, hair transplants are essentially void of maintenance. All you’ll have to do is get up and do your hair every morning.

5. Cost Effective

Though hair transplants are certainly on the expensive side in the short-term, in the long-term, they can actually be quite reasonable. Because they’re permanent, they completely do away with the need for hair growth sprays and other such products.

Hair pieces and hair systems are expensive hair replacement options long-term because they require the purchase of a new hair piece every few months and ongoing, monthly maintenance.

Hair transplants cost in Chicago starts from $4,000 to $10,000. This is a small price to pay for a richer and fuller head of hair.

What is Hair Transplant?

The decision to undergo a hair transplant is not an easy one, nor is it a decision that should be taken lightly. Before making a decision one way or the other, prospective hair transplant patients should carefully weigh all of the pros and cons associated with the many different hair transplant procedures that are available. Prospective patients should also consider their own specific goals and what they hope to achieve by undergoing a hair restoration procedure, as having a specific goal in mind will serve as a critical guide during the decision-making process.

What is Hair Transplant?

Hair transplant procedures have come a long way and have benefited tremendously from innovations that have enabled hair transplant surgeons to create completely natural-looking hairlines for men and women suffering from hair loss or thinning hair. Even with all of the advances and pioneering techniques, there are pros and cons involved in the decision to undergo a hair restoration procedure that prospective patients should be aware of. Once the patient understands the various pros and cons associated with the hair restoration process, they can make an informed decision that ensures they achieve the specific outcome they are seeking.

Different Types of Hair Transplant

Among the many pros associated with a hair transplant procedure, the restored sense of confidence brought about by the end result of the procedure ranks near the very top in the eyes of many patients. With the advent of new procedures and technologies, hair restoration procedures can successfully create a natural-looking hairline along with a substantially thicker head of hair through any number of hair restoration methodologies, including Follicular Unit Transplants (FUT) and Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). Since these procedures rely on donor tissue taken from the actual patient, the transplanted hair blends seamlessly with the patient’s naturally occurring hair.

The Procedures

Although there are a few cons associated with hair restoration procedures, it is worth noting that the majority of these drawbacks relate to the patient’s own perceptions and expectations. A hair restoration will not restore the hairline one possessed in their early 20s and will not restore the follicular density possessed during youth. It is also unlikely that a patient whose hair loss is ongoing will be able to stop their hair loss through the use of a hair transplant. In fact, most hair transplant doctors in New York City; Greenwich, Connecticut;Chicago, Illinois; Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia; Houston, Dallas, Texas; Manila, Philippines; Dubai, Abu Dhabi,U.A.E.; and Karachi, Pakistan, will recommend against a hair restoration until the patient’s hair loss has stabilized.

Patients should understand that a hair transplant is designed to improve the patient’s existing hairline and hair density while using the patient’s limited supply of donor tissue. A patient with the appropriate expectations regarding what a hair transplant can and cannot achieve is far more likely to be satisfied with the outcome generated through the hair restoration process.

The patient should make sure they ask any questions they may have during the initial consultation process, as it is during this time that the doctor will be able to outline what each procedure may be able to accomplish for the patient. The doctor will also outline the limitations associated with each procedure, thereby helping the patient understand precisely what should be expected of the hair restoration procedure.

Benefits of Hair Transplants

The benefits of a hair transplant are difficult to quantify, particularly since so many patients choose to undergo a hair transplant with the goal of reestablishing a lost sense of confidence and self-esteem. Part of the reason that a hair transplant is able to influence feelings of confidence and self-esteem has to do with the fact that an improved hairline and a thicker head of hair contribute to a more youthful appearance. Obviously, improvements in confidence and self-esteem can generate untold benefits that include a multitude of aspects of one’s personal life as well as one’s professional life.

Who are the Patients need Hair Loss Treatments?

Patients in New York City; Greenwich, Connecticut;Chicago, Illinois; Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia; Houston, Dallas, Texas; Manila, Philippines; Dubai, Abu Dhabi,U.A.E.; and Karachi, Pakistan,  often report feeling energized after experiencing the improvements made possible through a hair transplant procedure, and they often feel that they benefit from an increase in positive interactions with friends, family, colleagues, acquaintances, and strangers, apart from potential professional advancement, particularly those in positions that require much interaction including sales and marketing. Since there is little or no evidence revealing the fact that the patient ever underwent the procedure, the patient can choose who they wish to inform about undergoing a hair transplant. This is especially the case with procedures like FUE, which is a no-scar, no-suture hair restoration technique. Even with FUT, the small horizontal scar that is left behind can be easily obscured by the patient’s remaining and naturally growing hair.

The brief recovery period associated with both FUE and FUT is also beneficial to the patient, as there should be little to no interruption to the patient’s normal schedule after undergoing a hair transplant procedure. Following FUE, the patient can return to normal activities the very next day; following FUT, patients will require some downtime, but no more than a few days before resuming regular activity and a few weeks before resuming strenuous activity.

Limitations of a Hair Transplant

Patients weighing the pros and cons of a hair transplant procedure must understand that there are limitations with regard to what these procedures can accomplish. Since there are limitations, a patient may have outsized expectations that are simply impossible to live up to. A patient with such outsized expectations is likely to wind up disappointed by the work of even the most exceptional hair transplant surgeon, so it is absolutely necessary for every patient to clearly understand what a hair transplant can and cannot accomplish before making a decision.

In the typical hair transplant procedure, the hair transplant surgeon will use hair from the patient’s donor site to generate an appropriate amount of coverage in the recipient site, or the places in which hair loss or thinning hair is most apparent. The most economical method for achieving adequate coverage with a limited supply of DHT-resistant donor tissue is to restore 25 percent of the number of total hair follicles that would otherwise be naturally growing in these areas. Hair transplant doctors in New York City; Greenwich, Connecticut;Chicago, Illinois; Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia; Houston, Dallas, Texas;Manila, Philippines; Dubai, Abu Dhabi,U.A.E.; and Karachi, Pakistan, utilize this 25 percent figure since it has been repeatedly shown to create more than adequate coverage in areas affected by hair loss or thinning hair without requiring the doctor to overuse the available donor tissue.

What we aim in this Surgical procedure?

The goal of a hair transplant is to improve the patient’s existing hairline while enhancing the overall density of the patient’s hair. Patients should therefore not expect that the hairline and hair density of their youth will be completely restored in every way, shape, and form. Vast improvements to a patient’s existing hairline and hair density, on the other hand, are completely appropriate expectations for a patient to possess when considering the possibility of undergoing a hair transplant procedure.

What to expect after a Hair Transplant

During the course of the initial consultation at a hair transplant clinic in New York City; Greenwich, Connecticut;Chicago, Illinois; Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia; Houston, Dallas, Texas; Manila, Philippines; Dubai, Abu Dhabi,U.A.E.; andKarachi, Pakistan,  the hair transplant surgeon will discuss what the patient should expect throughout every stage of the process, including the pre-operative and post-operative stages. It is important to note that these post-operative expectations will depend upon the specific hair transplant procedure, as the recovery process associated with FUE is different from the recovery process associated with FUT. It is also critical that the patient abide by the instructions the doctor provides, as there is a risk that ignoring the doctor’s instructions results in an adverse impact on the overall efficacy of the hair transplant procedure.

What to expect?

The Maintenance Process

Following the completion of an FUE hair transplant procedure, patients can expect a quick recovery process and will be able to resume normal activities on the day after the procedure. This is because the FUE hair transplant procedure is a no linear scar, no-suture procedure. The FUT procedure will require a slightly lengthier recovery process, and many patients take an extra day or two off following the completion of the procedure. After a few days of taking it easy, the patient can resume their normal activities but should still exercise a bit of extra caution during the first week to 10 days.

In both the FUT and FUE procedures, the patient can expect the transplanted hair to fall out after a period of a few weeks. This is completely normal and is not cause for concern. The transplanted grafts will begin to grow new hair after about four months, and the patient should have a clear idea about the coverage the hair transplant has yielded after about six months. If the patient is hoping to achieve greater density, the six-month mark is usually the ideal time to discuss the possibility of undergoing an additional hair transplant procedure.

For patients who plan on undergoing multiple sessions of FUT, the six-month mark is also the most appropriate time to meet with the doctor in order to make a plan of action for the subsequent sessions. In some cases, one or two sessions will prove to be more than enough for patients seeking significant improvements in volume, but it will not be clear whether this is the case until the transplanted follicles have had ample time to grow following the initial procedure.

What kind of results should I expect?

A hair transplant procedure is capable of vastly improving the overall appearance of one’s hair through the enhancement of the existing hairline and through the density added to areas in which hair loss or thinning hair has become noticeable. Although it is possible to achieve marked improvements, patients should understand that there are limits to what a hair transplant can achieve and should set realistic expectations based on those limits.

kind of results

Quite a few factors will determine the end result of a hair transplant procedure. The amount of viable donor tissue available to the doctor will play a significant role in how much coverage is even possible, as some patients may not have enough DHT-resistant donor tissue to generate the level of coverage they are seeking. Even with adequate donor tissue available, a patient may have to be willing to undergo multiple transplant sessions to achieve the desired amount of coverage.

While there are indeed a number of factors that will influence the possible results a hair restoration procedure is able to achieve, the patient should expect to see the kind of results outlined by the doctor during the initial consultation process. It is during this time that the doctor and patient can discuss the specific hair transplant goals of the patient and how to best go about achieving these goals.

Contact Hair Loss Specialist Near You

The doctor at a hair transplant clinic in New York City; Greenwich, Connecticut; Chicago, Illinois; Washington D.C. and Northern Virginia; Houston, Dallas, Texas; Manila, Philippines; Dubai, Abu Dhabi, U.A.E.; and Karachi, Pakistan, will be able to determine whether or not there is sufficient donor hair available and can discuss how many follicular unit grafts will be necessary to ensure that these goals are indeed achieved through the hair restoration process. It is also possible that the doctor will recommend strategies for supplementing a surgical hair transplant procedure with a non-surgical hair transplant procedure.

FUE and FUT may benefit from the use of a topical solution once the grafts have taken root, and some patients can achieve the coverage they are seeking through the use of a surgical procedure in conjunction with a non-surgical option such as scalp micropigmentation.
